As a followup to our base share on SignalGate, Tropical Soulvangelical wants to make a correction. He incorrectly indicated that the reference to Martin O'Malley was in the petition he signed. Instead, it was in a subsequent email he saw regarding the site wanting to make a billboard ad. That's where they talked about Martin O'Malley. But one thing he has been kind of wanting to say for nearly five and a half months now, since Wednesday November 6, was that he's been led to believe that Insurgent and those three outlets he's suspicious of actually -wanted- -trump- to win. He's brought back to that one political cartoon just after George W. Bush won reelection where two regular reporters and an anti-Bush cartoonist high-five each other chanting "Four more years!" The cartoonist had in his hand toward the fourth wall that "chimpy" caricature of Bush we're all familiar with right now, even in the throes of SignalGate. Again since Tuesday, TSV's not seeing any doomsday coverage regarding Social Security or Funny Named Care or the post office. It's all been SignalGate, all week long. But now that we're coming up on the weekend, he's thinking that it'll be half a newscycle into the scandal come Monday, so he's pretty sure they'll go back to their usual nailbiting mostly unconfirmed or unsupported by at least regular reports that show up for TSV both on newsradio and on that 2025 list of events that's pretty much his "newspaper." So why would they want -trump- to win? TSV figures it goes back to those outlets' apparent view with George Carlin about News As Entertainment, which TSV figures must be a concept almost totally alien in smaller and more rural countries where peoples' most main outlet of information is some sort of newsradio. He finds it hard to imagine people in those places getting "glued" to the radio and doomscrolling their radios. Doomscrolling and News As Entertainment TSV takes as western indulgences, or read, western -excess-. TSV wants the people from smaller countries to just frown at us in the sinful west and think, come on guys! But if Harris won, TSV figures she'd be smart and run a smart kind of no-drama-bama type administration which would just be totally dull and ho-hum, because you'd have competent people running the scene who generally know what they're doing. That whole scandalization on Lloyd Austin not telling people he went in for surgery now seems like a forgivable oversight compared to the vagaries of SignalGate. It's those total idiots that provide wall-to-wall political entertainment, and the outlets -are- running a business, so the more eyes are glued to stupid politicians, the more ad revenue the outlets bring in. This is all again part of things TSV tries to remind himself every day that he doesn't think anyone else is really aware of unless they just put down their phones and/or turn the TV off and think, you know what? We -are- a bunch of self-obsessed excessive types, and we need to get a grip. Nobody predicted that SignalGate would happen. Harris never made such a warning on the campaign trail, and maybe she should have. TSV for his part would never specifically predicted SignalGate, but he figured some kind of "scandal" or something was bound to happen. Again he's seeing not so much Lex Luthor as much as Dick Dastardly.
