We usually don't do sports here, but Tropical Soulvangelical thinks he's waited long enough. He wants to let the world know he's not a Knicks person, and in fact, he's directing people to Knicks Suck Watch Parties with respect to both the New York Liberty and his team the Brooklyn Nets' summer leagues starting on 7/4. He doesn't care that the Knicks are this year's champions because he also objects to this notion that you can't argue with success. He points out that under some circumstances you -can- argue with success, like for example those confetti cannons at the parade. He believes that pro-Knicks area businesses in Manhattan are able to afford to buy extra confetti for the cannons for the parade in an effort to make it the "greatest" parade the city has ever seen. TSV prefers to look to the Halloween and Thanksgiving parades later in the year if we're thinking that hard about parades. So why be a Knicks Hater? For one thing, there are at least 39 other teams. TSV also figures that despite being champions they're simply not a good team. They just had a good season at a time when the other teams had a bad one. Sure a W's a W, but it makes sense to TSV to realistically point out the circumstances. Schools out, but TSV figures that those school age children wearing Brooklyn Nets merch are just going to be bullied because the Nets are the Knicks' cross-town rivals, and that's the point where the Knicks franchise is just going to get too big a head about it. TSV sees the Knicks as being sick with jealousy over the fact that they themselves sold the Liberty to the Nets years ago, so that the Liberty is the Nets' "sister team" in Women's Basketball while the Knicks themselves don't have a women's team. So the next victory the Liberty have going forward TSV takes as an In Your Face Knicks moment, and he's thinking that Brooklyn will likely make strides in the summer leagues and possibly get out of the basement in the upcoming regular season to at least #3 in their division. He's thinking that post-season will still have to wait, but you never know. Meanwhile he sees it really cheap that the Knicks franchise wants people to -immediately- move to the World Cup so that Knicks Haters don't get trash talk rights. Knicks Haters will still find a way to do trash talk anyway, which TSV sees them as more than entitled to.
